I enjoy painting as a reflection of an unfolding process of discovery, a metaphor for perception and awareness of inner spiritual seeing, unfolding in the medium of life. I clear my mind of any preconceived ideas of what should happen, what I might find, and dive into that holding field of the empty canvas. Letting the painting dictate what happens next, I feel my way along the journey, step by step.

Sometimes the journey goes full cycle, including once again the representations from the physical world, and sometimes it remains in the abstract world. Either way, a new coherence is reestablished: an interconnectness of all the parts to the Whole, and to a complex play of color, plane and line that live within the Unity the canvas holds. It is open to the viewer to participate in this dynamic through his or her own responses. I leave space for the viewer to enter and Recreate, participate in the painting to the extent he/she wishes to and hope that a resonance that uplifts and can heal within that mystery can be felt there. ( as he/she dives in deeply and resurfaces anew. )To me this process of discovery is like going on a deep dive into and beyond the form, then dissolving into chaos and unknown, and finally resurfacing in a new, reemergent form.
