Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion

Partnerships are ingrained in our communities

Lions are proven.

A lot has happened since 1917, but one thing hasn’t changed — the service, dedication, and leadership of Lions in their communities.

Lions are agile.

1.4 million Lions. 48,000 clubs. 200+ countries. We can respond quickly to the unique challenges facing each community.

Lions are connected.

Lions live and work in communities they serve. We know how to encourage, serve and advocate for our neighbors and those in need.

Global community service is what we do

Improving health and well-being

Many in India are forced to quench their thirst with water tainted by contaminants and waterborne diseases. This is why the Lions in West Bengal and Jharkhand have partnered with Coal India Limited and Tata Project Limited to establish 28 water filtration systems throughout West Bengal.

Partner spotlight

Lions International has partnered with Elevance Health since 2015 to provide volunteer engagement opportunities for Elevance Health employees within their local communities. Each office engages in projects that capture company and employee values to produce meaningful change in communities where Elevance Health employees live and work.

Since 2002, LCIF has partnered with Johnson & Johnson to implement the largest-known school-based eye health program, Sight For Kids, mobilizing Lions and eye care professionals to provide comprehensive eye health services in low-income schools. Students identified with potential vision impairment or eye ailments are referred to healthcare providers for evaluation.

LCIF and Latter-day Saint Charities have partnered since 2018 to fight the major causes of preventable and reversible blindness for underserved populations in Africa, South America, and the Middle East. Together, we work to create sustainable eye care systems by improving existing infrastructure and training local personnel to provide cost-effective services.
